It was design thinking
But when you open it, it shows a stripe inside.
Two sides of the stripes can be attached together with a pen cap.
And you can carry it in your waist when you need to spare your hand!
We were taught to design anything, anywhere and were told to redesign something very basic that we all take it for granted: a wallet. We were teamed up with a partner to design the perfect wallet for each other using the user centric approach.
My partner Fariah had the following problem with her wallet.
1. She uses a hand purse, and while carrying this purse, she can't use that hand for anything else.
2. But she is also habituated to this hand purse, so she doesn't want to use something very different.
3. She also wants something that is fashionable.
I was meant to design a purse that serves all her need, andcarryable
After an interview, an extended interview, and lots and lots of brainstorming, I came up with 5 different ideas to attach the wallet in her body so that she doesn't need to carry it.
1. In the waist
2. With a stripe
3. In her leg
4. In the arm
5. And inside her hijab (That is the thing she carries everywhere!)
From the five, the first one was prototyped.
